Principal’s Message

Lori A. Walsh

Welcome to the American Standard International School.

On behalf of our school it is my honor to introduce you to American Standard International School, Dhaka. Each year brings many new faces to our campus, some of whom may be experiencing the American curriculum and culture in an American school for the very first time. Our teachers and support staff are trained and continue to participate in workshops that add to their skills to ensure that they and their colleagues can provide your children with the very best in an American education institution.

ESL

The goal of the ESL program is to help students develop English language skills necessary for day to day life and to obtain English for their respective grade level.

Early Years

Our Preschool, Pre-KG and KG classes follow the curriculum of the Ohio State common core. We strive to develop creative skills, social and emotional values, thinking skills and physical development in our young pupils.

Primary & Middle Years

At ASIS we also follow the U. S Common Core Curriculum from Grade 1-6, as does the Early Years. The Common Core is a set of academic standards that every student is expected to learn in each grade level, from kindergarten through high school.

IBDP

The International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma is a rigorous pre-university course of studies, leading to examinations, which meet the needs of motivated secondary school students between the ages of 16 and 19 years.  Designed as a comprehensive two-year curriculum enabling graduates to fulfill requirements of various national and international education systems, the diploma model is based on the pattern of no single country but incorporates the best elements of many.

The objective is to develop creative and intelligent human beings who understand and care for the community, respect other cultures, people & regions. In this light, any learner will embody multiculturalism and the need to become a global citizen in today’s interconnected world.

Education Through Inspiration & Fun

We make the lesson interesting so the student will find interest in the lesson.

Extracurricular Activities

Halloween Party

Halloween is an annual holiday celebrated each year on October 31. It originated with the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, when people would light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off ghosts.

Winter Party

Winter is the perfect time for celebrations at school. We have our winter party right on the last day before the winter break. As ours is a multicultural school, we have children from different countries.

Pohela Boishakh

The Bengali New Year is observed as a public holiday in Bangladesh. The day is marked with singing, processions, and fairs. Traditionally, businesses start this day with a new ledger, clearing out the old.

Science Fair

ASIS Annual Science Fair provides an important opportunity to the students to showcase and highlight their projects or experiments. Students may either work independently or in pairs.

Annual Sports

Sports Day at ASIS is a platform to showcase the talent and efforts put in by the student to make it a successful event. Sports here is not only about competition, it is also about having fun

Robotics

Robotics open-ended challenges like problem analysis, and project management are taught as essential parts of the engineering process. ASIS students continuously apply their knowledge base to develop solutions for open ended design and programming challenges.

Music

In ASIS we introduce our students with culture, music is a form of art and cultural activity whose medium is sound organized in time. It helps to learn language easily. It helps recalling memories, improves mood

Art Competition

Creating art expands a child’s ability to interact with the world around them, and provides a new set of skills for self-expression and communication. Not only does art help to develop the right side of the brain, it also cultivates important skills that benefit a child’s development.
